At about 2-and-a-half years old, Emma Ray “got a really bad ear infection.” The pediatrician wanted her to take an antibiotic to treat it, but the little girl’s mom, Heather, felt unsettled about the prescribed dosage. After raising her concerts to the doctor and pharmacist, Heather felt assured enough to give Emma the medication.
