PCR testing was a common practice during COVID — commonly administered via a nasal or throat swab. James Lyons-Weiler, Ph.D. was one of many scientists who were raising the alarm about this method for diagnosing an individual with the respiratory virus because of their propensity to create false positives in a pandemic situation.
