Angelo, a child with Down Syndrome, submitted several vaccine medical exemptions to his school district in New York because of the multitude of health conditions he deals with on a daily basis. Angelo is immunocompromised, and certain medical interventions can be fatal. The higher-ups at the NYC Department of Health denied these requests, and the young boy was no longer able to access education and support services such as speech, occupational and physical therapies.
