I Survived the Hospital COVID Protocol
Valerie’s shocking narrative about her hospital experience involves more than just a lack of informed consent. While a patient, she made known her wishes about treatment and end-of-life care by writing them on her arm, yet Valerie still felt an “overwhelming fear” about her situation and what could happen next. To document her condition as a patient, she recorded video footage. “I felt like I was…fighting two battles,” Valerie explains, “I was fighting a battle…to stay alive and…I was battling the hospital staff.” She remembers feeling “overwhelmed, scared” and worried that she would not make it out alive.
