I Survived COVID Hospital Protocol
“I’m very blessed to be sitting here,” she says with a smile. Unlike Michelle Tyler, many COVID patients have not made it out alive. She got sick after visiting family for the holiday, and “did not want to go to the hospital” but ended up admitted, anyway. On the fifth night, she was startled awake to be put on a different oxygen machine and ended up intubated, against her wishes, with great anxiety: “I was very scared, extremely frightened.” Michelle didn’t think she’d make it.
