Within 2 weeks of DPT immunization, Emma Smith had a seizure. At the ER, the Smiths were told that their daughter had an ear infection and were given antibiotics. A few days went by before Emma had another seizure, more serious this time. Unaware of the role that vaccination could have played in these episodes, she was brought in for more. “We watched her regress back into crawling and baby bottles, and that’s where she’s been stuck,” Emma’s mother explains.
